I haven't tried this recipe yet, but I just had to respond to many of the reviews. People!!! Read the recipe. It calls for a Pork LOIN Roast, not a Pork TENDERLOIN Roast. No wonder your roast was overcooked, dry and stringy. These are two completely different cuts of meat. By the way, where do you even find a 4 pound tenderloin? I've never seen such a thing. I don't know if I'll try the recipe or not, but the bad reviews make me want to more than the good ones.

Made this recipe for my wife and I with just a couple of changes. I only used about 2 1/2 lbs of pork and I used 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon as opposed to the sticks. We don't have a slow cooker so I browned the roast in a Dutch oven, removed the roast and added all the ingredients. I then returned the roast to the pot, poured the Dr Pepper over it and cooked it in a 300 degree oven for 2 1/2 hrs. I then removed the roast from the the pot, reduced the sauce for about 5 mins, sliced the roast and spooned the sauce over it. Served it with German red cabbage and spaetzle. Out of this world! Didn't need a knife to cut the meat and the flavors were wonderful. Definitely a keeper!

Sandra Lee's ideas are Semi Home Cooking hello that means prepackaged meals and more meals like mom's in a earlier era would make. We as frequent semi home cooking watchers hopes the person below this who is stating she uses prepackaged meals holds down a 40 hour job, children and oh yeah raising them there selves. Then maybe they would see what great help Sandra Lee is!!!! This receipe is really good.

Sandra Lee's recipes are for the most part awful--I will not watch her show anylonger. Her recipes are filled with pre-packed ingredients that are loaded with unhealthy ingredients--not for anyone looking for good tasting BUT-healthy
meals--- She is pretty, but that's all--not a good cook/chef!

I really enjoyed this recipe. I didn't have Dr. Pepper so I used Pepsi instead and didn't add the fruit. Between the onions, cloves and cinnamon sticks, the flavor was spot-on! Totally juicy as well as a great dipping sauce made from the drippings. Not dry at all!
I did use the crock pot and slow cooked it all night long. The house smells awesome!! I wish I had thought ahead and put some potatoes and carrots in but I didn't think about it.
This recipe is a keeper!

I read some of these reviews before I tried it. When I did make it I forgot the Dr. Pepper (which, bytheway, doesn't mean it's peppery--they get it from the soda so I used Coke with Vanila Cherry. Wow! Not only did my finicky daughter love it, but my three grandkids did too (ages 1,3,5 yrs and they are worst than finicky!! Especially, if it isn't candy!!
I used the fast method because of the fact that others said theirs were dry. It came out so tender and tasted soooooooooooooo good. This time I am going with Dr. Pepper. Oh, and my friends sneaked a taste when they came over and flipped!! So, this recipe is one of my all-time favs. THANKS

What a waste of a butcher-bought $20 pork loin roast. I followed the recipe as written, slow-cooking on low for 8.5 hours. I was rewarded with a dry, stringy, tasteless mess. Unserveable. I ended up throwing it out. Clearly not worth the time or the money.

I just viewed this segment and came to pull the recipe. After reading the comments, I still like the idea of the pork tenderloin with the fruit & onions for a fall dinner. I will cook them slowly, but since a pork tenderloin cooks so quickly, I will roast it in the oven to the proper doneness and put it on top of the fruit compote.
Sounds great with garlic mashed potatoes.

The apricots, prunes and Dr. Pepper were unusual but essential!

Worst dish ever. My dog wouldn't even eat it. It was a waste of a good pork tenderloin.
I have stopped watching Sandra Lee.
