if you must make this and wish to have a peppery dish, use a tsp or two of pepper and ginger ale and omit prunes. Adjust cloves and garlic to taste.

The pork was dry and dreadfully overcooked -- so overcooked it basically fell apart. The sauce was too sweet.

I was so looking forward to trying recipe with ingredients i am not used to cooking with. It was nauseating. The meat was very tender, but i couldn't get near the sauce, nor could m husband.

I made this for my husband and myself and while the meat was tender it was very dry and I had to use gravy to save it. Needless to say this won't make it into my recipe book.

Wow. I am surprised at how delicious this is! First of all, I used coke not Dr. Pepper and added a pinch of thyme. It made my house smell unbelievable all afternoon and was amazing! I served it with steamed carrot slices and curry rice. My husband nearly died. Very pleased Sandra. Good recipe!

Again, not a GREAT fan of Sandra's, but this really got my attention. I didn't change a thing..Dr.Pepper and all (the person who thinks Pepsi is less sweet.....hmmmm. My only problem was that the pork was basically shreddable after 7 hours in the slow cooker. No way to slice it.
But yummers if you like dried fruit and cinnamon and cloves. I plan to use the leftover shredded pork for fajitas and (per suggestion get some chicken tenders and use up the sauce.

The pork was dry as a bone and the sauce was nauseating.

I made the recipe just as it says - even turned it once or twice to get it all in the sauce. It was way too dry and not enough flavor in the meat itself.
