I measured very accurately and used exactly the amount of liquid specified. My pie was still pretty runny after about five hours. Next time I will use the large pie filling with the same amount of liquid. The taste was great. Just too runny.

Who is this Lynda that rates something without ever making it? She is a pro? and from Texas? I thought this was an excellent pie and will make again even with all the stuff that's bad for me. Give me a break!!!

I usually dont do Sandra Lee Recipe's but I HAD to try this with my own "twist." I made my OWN crust out of Nilla Wafers(got to try it!!! SO GOOD!!!!. Instead of the pineapple-cocnut nectar I just used dole 100% pineapple juice other than that I kept the filling pretty much the exact same. The entire pie was GONE in about 7mins, My family LOVED it

I love this pie, my new fave!! I made a few changes though. First of all I used a Graham cracker pre-made crust. I added crushed pineapple and used two boxes of Coconut Cream pudding. I used Dream Whip (very Semi-homemade!! with coconut extract added instead of vanilla. Also, I searched for coconut-pineapple nectar and could not find it. I substituted with Pina Coloda frozen drink mix. I thought the pie was perfect!! I love Sandra Lee and think, as a mother of three small children, shortcuts that allow me to cook and provide good tasting food are just marvelous!!! Sandra Lee you are amazing, thanks for your down-to-earth recipes!!!! :

I made this pie twice -- once with the rum extract, and the next time without (I'm not a big fan of the taste of rum extract. I couldn't find the nectar, but used a can of frozen Bacardi pina colada mixer instead. It was so easy and so refreshingly tasty! For the crust, I used a small box of granola cereal mixed with a stick of melted butter, pressed into the bottom of a 10" pie plate, then microwaved it for 1 1/2 minutes. Last year was all about the lemonade pie; this summer is all about this pina colada pie! As Sandra would say -- "fun-tastic!"

Made this pie for Fathers Day and it was such a hit my daughter wanted it for her birthday. It is perfectly balanced with all the right flavors didn't have rum extract used the real thing instead and it was YUM. A real cool pie for a hot summer night.
