we did not like it all and both of us raced to the peanut butter. I have eaten other recipes of hers and was pleased.

Made this for dinner tonight, what a hit!! I used boiled red potatos with the skins on as well, cut them to a nice size, it was just right. We loved the dressing... excellent recipe!!

I took this recipe to an Oktoberfest party and it was a hit.
I doubled all the of the dressing and it was perfect! I followed it exactly as it was written. However, i made some changes as followed:
I believe vegetables taste alot better fresh. So, I purchased the Green Beans bags in the microwave ready bags from the produce section and boiled some red potatoes. I did not peel them either! So easy. The green beans I boiled for 5 minutes and cooled them of in ice water. Mixed it all up and it was perfect. Fresh bacon too! BTW: u can use that same water to boil your potatoes later.

I had to keep adding salt in this dish to bring out the flavor. It could have used different seasonings besides Italian dressing. There was no kick!

This recipe is incredibly simple to throw together, looks beautiful in the bowl and was delicious. We took this to a little get together with a friend and even the kids were eating it up. The dressing is super easy to make and uses common items from the kitchen, and the best thing about the dressing is that you only use 2 oz of beer that means that there are 10 oz left to enjoy while you cook.

I did change up my ingredients a little bit. For the seasoned potatoes I bought and Ore-Ida brand frozen product that I placed on a baking sheet for 16 minutes to bake. I also chose to use fresh green beans instead of frozen, so I blanched them and then shocked them in cold water to stop the cooking and cool them down.

As another reviewer mentioned, there are no instructions for what to do with the frozen potatoes. I ended up having to boil mine anyways because I couldn't find frozen, but otherwise turned out well. I added a little more beer to thin out the dressing enough to coat everything.
It doesn't taste exactly like Oma's family recipe, but it still tastes quite good.

You recommend bag of seasoned diced potatoes which come in frozen form. Do I need to defrost bag before use or should I bake potatoes first? Would appreciate your quick reply as I'm using this recipe tomorrow. Thanks alot. Fran

This recipe was so easy and I actually substituted 2lbs of red potatoes that I boiled for 20 mins versus using the called for frozen. The dressing was delicious and with the crispy bacon on top when I served it, well I was quite the hit. My son took it home and two seconds from his first mouthful called and told me it was the best potato salad he's ever had! Quite a complliment.
Thanks Sandra from a diehard German lady.
