I made this recipe for lunch for my family using fresh figs from our back yard and it was so delightfully delicious! The combination of the sweet figs, salty prosciutto, and tart cheese gives this dish a wonderful complexity while still being super easy to make. Topping it with the fig preserves really brings out the fantastic fig flavor.

This was very delicious. I made it for dinner tonight along with a salad. I love the combination of the ingredients, definitely a do over, but if you are expecting a regular quesadilla you will be mistaken. This is a very sophisticated quesadilla. For those with a Mediterranean palette you will enjoy it.

A good alternative might be to replace the goat cheese and jack with brie.

As is, the quesadilla is quite bland.
I added strips of fresh basil and grated a mound of mozarella cheese, also spread goat cheese on both tortillas. Cooked them in large skillet and extra virgin olive oil.

I don't know why this has so many bad reviews. I thought they were delicious! I guess it's more of a sophiticated taste. If your expecting normal quesadillas than you have the wrong mind set. Try looking up a more original recipe for quesadillas if you don't like them.

I love cheese... so I loved this dish. But I admit that this is not for "picky eaters". If you don't like goat cheese than just use regular cream cheese.
Instead of the fresh figs I used dried ones, they are just as fine.
