Our company decided to surprise with lunch so some of us decided to prepare 4th of July desserts to go along with the lunch. This one was truly easy and quick! I would definitely make this again. Thank you so much Sandra!

Made this a couple of years ago for 4th of July. I almost didn't even get to try it because there was only a spoonful left when I went to get some only a few minutes after I put it out. Everyone loved it.. I'm making it again this weekend. :D

I made this dessert for a pot-luck dinner with a group of friends. Since we would be eating outside picnic-style, I made this dessert in individual mason jars (12 16oz wide mouthed jars and it turned out great! The trifle was easy to eat and was very yummy! I used 1 cake, 2 tubs of regular cool whip (not the low-fat stuff, and 3 pints of blueberries. I also added 2 teaspoons of vanilla to each 16oz tub of cool whip to add some extra flavor.

This dessert is easy, presents well, and tastes great. Thanks, Sandra Lee!

I made this trifle for Memorial Day 2009. We had 2 strawberry pies there too. My trifle was gone and 11/2 pies were still left. Always have extra whipped cream on hand...could use more than called for and I changed the strawberries to red raspberries. Loved it

It does look really nice, especially for the 4th of July. But the taste is bland and a little dry.

The cake and the berries dont really fit well together.

I made this for the 4th of July and it was such a waste of money! I was able to find a red velvet cake mix so I was very excited to make it. The recipe doesn't call for nearly enough whip topping so I ran out half way through...guests already there. It was also a very odd combo of flavors. I agree that pudding would probably help. Not impressed. I love Sandra's individual lime cheesecakes though...that is a great recipe I make over and over again.

This is an ok recipe but in order to make it really good you need pudding and cookies. It adds more moisture and then crunch from the cookies. I made two boxes of instant cheesecake pudding and added blue food coloring to made it blue. I also took sugar cookies and crumbled them up to add..so my dessert went: red cake, blue pudding, strawberries/blueberries, whipped cream, crushed cookies. Then repeat. Its beautiful and tasty.

I prepared this and loved it! I do not like to cook but wanted to do a patriotic dessert. I found this recipe to be easy, fun and beautiful. Then I ate some and it tasted as good as it looked. Thank you, Sandra, for giving this non-cook something I could do!

Easy, and makes for a wonderful presentation. My secret to making it extra sweet: instead of cool whip, use vanilla pudding from an instant mix. You will need 2 boxes, yes, I know it's not perfectly white, but close enough! you could also use one layer of each or mix together!

Our family started gathering for weekly dinners recently andf we've made it a point to try something new. Usually I make dessert and I stick to the standard yellow cake or cookies but when I saw this recipe I has to try it. At first I was a little nervous because I had never made red velvet cake before and I also had trouble finding a cake mix in the super market but when everything was complete, it was delicious. The family loved it and now they want me to make all different types of trifles. Thanks a bunch Sandra Lee. YOU ROCK!!!
