This was my first turkey!! I was very nervous so I chose this recipe because it's simple and semihomemade. But it wasn't that easy to make and it didn't taste that great. I'm going to ask my mom to make the turkey next year.

The turkey was blah and pretty dry. I've made and eaten worse but I wouldn't bother with this particular recipe again.

It is very odd that the meat was so very dry and stringy when so much grease was in the roasting pan?? We wondered about that.

The meat was bone dry and fell apart when carved. The skin was mottled and spongy and though the herbs seemed like a nice touch, there were way too much of them and they left a bitter and disagreeable taste in the meat. This was a hugely disappointing Thanksgiving turkey.

Omgosh this was the BEST turkey I've ever had. It's by far the easiest way to do turkey and it came out great. I have to wonder why so many people got poor turn out. Perhaps they did something "wrong"? My family raved about this turkey and they're Cajuns. (Use to good food and fried turkey My husband's looking forward to me making another one for Christmas. Sandra Lee, you're awesome. Thank you for the awesome Thanksgiving bird. YUMMMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!

The turkey was dry as a bone and as greasy/slimy as could be. The butter "trick" seemed to do nothing at all but make the turkey skin spotted and rubbery -- sure didn't help the meat any.

Can't add too much to what the other people have said about the mushy skin and all the grease. We also thought the taste of the turkey was poor.

This turkey tasted pretty good (not great, though but it seemed very, very greasy. The skin was greasy and the roasting pan was swimming in fat. Too much fat to even try making gravy. I'll try this recipe at Christmas with a lot less butter, but if that doesn't work I'll switch to another recipe.

This recipe was very easy. This was my first turkey ever. My Butterball came out so good. Brown crisp skin and totally juicy. But I almost messed up, but my sister called to warn me about removing some parts from the top of the turkey. I didn't know that a turkey had two cavaties. I recommend this recipe.
