I should have been forewarned by the reviews about all the problems with this recipe. But I went ahead and made it anyway. BIG mistake. The skin does NOT get crispy -- it had a very unappetizing waxy, greasy texture. The seasoning packets were also a big mistake. It made the turkey taste like salad dressing. Yuck. The whole thig was a huge disaster.

I cannot believe how juicy his turkey came out, at first I was a bit cautious due to the raitings but I had to try it, it was my first thanksgiving with my in-laws I did changed it a bit. I acutally made a combination of Gia's turkey but I included your butter and in fact I used the butter for a family recipe and it was so delicious! Thanks Sandra!

I made this turkey today for my side of the family for Thanksgiving. Oh, my goodness...It was a tremendous hit! Everyone wants the recipe and could not believe it was the first turkey I have ever made. I will add that I brined it in salt water overnight, but the garlic herb flavor from the recipe's butter mixture and the "stuffers" were what made it so good. It absorbed the flavors all throughout. The skin was so delicious and crisp, too. I will be making this again.

I hesitated to use this recipe because of the bad reviews. After checking the instructions again, I decided there was no way the turkey could be anything but delicious if done correctly. I'm glad I didn't go by the initial reviews!! I left the turkey uncovered for the first hour and then tented foil over it for the remainder! YUM! YUM! Can't wait until Christmas dinner to repeat this one!

I had my doubts about the recipe, but I must say, the turkey turned out great!!! Everyone in my household could not stop commenting on how excellent the turkey turned out since this was my first time baking one. Skin came out just as crunchy as promised. Not sure of why there are negative reviews, but as always, you have your haters or people that cannot cook at all. Great job Sandra!

This was my first turkey and I'm so proud of how it turned out! We didn't carve it till later so the skin wasn't crispy anymore but it was still very delicious, moist and juicy. It had the prefect combination of herbs and that hint of lemon. I HAD SO MANY COMPLIMENTS! Thank you.

This was a big hit this Thanksgiving. I have made Martha Stewarts sage butter and this new receipe beat it hands down. The skin was perfect the turkey was so moist. I will be using this receipe next year. Thank you Sandra Lee...

This is the best turkey I have ever made. It was done in no time and the taste was superb. The gravy, out of this world. This is to be our thanksgiving and Christmas meal from now on.
