I'm sure there are other sites that give this quick and simple recipe for creating your own chips at home, but I saw it on this episode first, then looked it up here because my hubby and I were hankerin' for a late night snack. I knew I had a leftover sandwich wrap that needed to be used, and my mom-in-law always buys plenty of tortillas, so I made these. Very easy and good! Because I only had 1 sandwich wrap and the rest were plain tortillas, I added Parmesan & Garlic seasoning along with the S&P, and they're just great.
I'm rating Good instead of 5 Stars only because I haven't made the dip, and honestly don't intend to. It sounds okay, and I like peas, but I can't see the point of using them in this dip except for filler. I'll be dipping these in ranch sour cream :

It is not necessary to go to all this trouble. I thought Sandra's recipes were about short cuts. Guacamole is easy to make from simple ingredients, why make it so complicated?

Frozen pre-chopped onions? Really? You can't take 5 minutes to chop a fresh onion? Guacamole is all about using fresh ingredients... This recipe is the worst I've seen.

First of all, real guacamole isn't even hard to make. It takes about 2 minutes, start to finish, to make. The greatest part of it is how fresh it tastes - this is incredibly insulting. How the heck is thawing a bag of frozen chopped onions easier than using a fresh one? WHY on earth would you add peas to them?? Her reasoning was because "they are also green"? I mean, cmon here food network. You also can NOT add canned diced tomatoes to this. Lastly, what the heck is "guacamole seasoning". I've had problems with her recipes before, but for some reason, this was just embarrassing and i'm not quite sure why food network producers would ok it.

"True" Guacamole is made with all fresh ingredients...at least the kind we eat in Mexico is. Sandra should have called this avocado dip instead!

I logged on today to find a recipe for making my own guacamole, and even though I've never prepared it before, I would never put frozen onions and (ewww frozen peas into guacamole. This sounds disgusting.
