1/24/10 Made this soup for lunch today. It's easy, hardly any prep time, and delicious!. I did not have the dry vermouth so I used 1/2 cup chardonnay and mixed 2 teaspoons sugar in it. Worked just as well I think. I also made one cup of instant rice, mixed it into my bowl of soup and put the balance of it in a baggie for soup heat up next time.

I didn't have the right tomatoes so I used Del Monte Stewed Tomatoes (Italian Recipe with Basil, Garlic & Oregano and it was YUMMY!!!

This soup was so easy to make. I used a fresh onion and I only had sweet vermouth so I used half the amount. Quick and delicious soup.

This was super easy to make. Too bad it didn't taste good. All you can taste is the overpowering vermouth. I should have known better than to try a Sandra Lee recipe!

I decided to try this recipe about an hour ago. I didn't have any fire-roasted diced tomatoes on hand, so I just used some regular diced tomatoes I had left over. I used fresh onion and only pureed half of the soup. It was ready within 15 minutes of my deciding to make it. This soup is absolutely delicious!

I was so suprised how quick this was tto make the only thing i changed is i did use fresh onion not frozen. Easy fast and way better then the traditional sweet tomato soup i'm use to. This is now my favorite soup.

This is my favorite way to eat tomato soup. Sometimes I make it with sherry instead of Vermouth and it's equally delicious.
