I'm not sure why some did not like this recipe. It's very good. Instead or pureeing the entire batch, maybe leave some tomato chunks for texture. One could add some half and half, salt etc---but for a 15 minute recipe, you have to give it 5 stars....

I love tomato basil soups and I especially love this one because it's very easy to do. I just skipped the wine and instead used a cup of broth. It was still good. I will keep making this soup. It's perfect for the cold weather.

I made a huge batch of this the other night and it was a HUGE hit with my fiance who HATES tomatos. He loved this soup. I used sour cream to thicken it, instead of the half and half she used on the show. It was so creamy and delicious. I also added about 1 tbsp of sugar to the tomato and onions before I puree it to add a little sweetness because it tasted a little bitter if I hadn't. Love it! Great recipe!

I found this needed an extra kick for flavor. I added a few spices to give it some kick and it got a little better, but it wasn't worth the trouble.

It was easy to make, but it would have been cheaper to buy soup from the store and would have tasted better.

Fast and easy with a fresh flavor. I use regular tomatoes when I can't find the fire roasted.

I found this recipe very easy to make healthy, using fat free half and half instead of the cream. It still tasted wonderful. However, I could not find roasted tomatoes ine the store and used regular diced tomatoes. It was still very good.

I think the her recipe is on the right track, but it didn't quite hit the mark. I'm going to try it again with San Marzano tomatoes to see if that makes a difference and add some crushed red pepper flakes too. As is though, it's lacking a lot.

This soup is mighty tasty! My husband had a cold and I decided to make him a yummy comforting meal to try to make him feel better. He didn't have much of an appetite so I started the meal off with this soup. He LOVED it! I loved it too. This sure beats popping open a can of soup. And this is just about as easy. I couldn't find fresh basil leaves, plus, even if I could, I usually end up wasting the rest of the fresh herbs I buy. So, I found a refrigerated bottle version of the basil so I used that instead. It turned out great! I will probably entertain with this soup, it's that good!
