Love this recipe. Didn't change a thing although I did double it.
My only complaint is that it is a bit pricey.
Very easy to make... threw it together in less than 30 mins.
Thanks SL ... you rock!

I made this chowder for our Christmas Eve dinner, and it got rave reviews from all of the guests. It is definitely going in my "Keep!!" folder. So easy and flavorful! I doubled the recipe and it was still easy.

I'm not often in the mood for seafood, but this chowder is SO addictive and easy, I love making it. I've been using sea scallops instead, and am afraid of overwhelming the taste with the clam juice, so I don't use the whole bottle. Next time I'm going to try the bay scallops and see what difference it makes. Either way, very very tasty recipe.

Made this tonight and it was wonderful! I put the bay scallops (froze works just fine and flour in a ziplock to make it easier. I used sliced portobello mushrooms which gave it a wonderful rich taste. Will make again for sure!

By far the best chowder I have ever had. I had to double the recipe. I tweaked it by adding boiled potatoes for texture. Also, I used the small bay scallops (frozen and they worked out wonderfully. A very versatile recipe. Recommend for the "seasoned chef" as well as the more timid cook. BTW, added my own seafood seasoning, couldn't find the packet. Just googled it.

This was the best soup ever! As another reviewer mentioned, it DOES seem like something you would see on a menu of a five star restaurant! My boyfriend said he would even be better if I added some shrimp. I think I will do that and use small, but not bay (have a different taste shrimp. The bay scallops were fine, though. I was so surprised that this soup tasted so rich without using any cream!!

This will now join the recipes in our "FAVORITES" file. A great soup for company and family, as a first course or as a meal entree, served with savory muffins, or dinner rolls, and salad. I used baby bella mushrooms and simply quartered them, so the chowder has a nice texture. I assumed the seafood seasoning was Old Bay, so that is what I used. To serve, I sprinkled dried parsley on top of each bowl... pretty and added a finishing layer of taste. The only changes I would make to this recipe are minor...adding more potatoes (as suggested by other reviewers would be delicious and possibly reduce the saltiness of the chowder. Or, I will look for reduced sodium soup the next time, as we did find the soup a bit salty.

This was awesome! So easy and delicious. I also added potatoes for more "substance", and 3/4 lb. scallops, and the flavor was incredible. This is a meal in itself, but a smaller portion is wonderful if you're having other things. My husband and I are looking forward to having this again!
