Basically this was blobs of too sweet frosting. If you want quick "truffles", use an electric mixer to make a paste-like consistency out of a box of crushed oreos and an 8oz block of cream cheese. Roll them into balls and dip them in whatever melted chocolate you'd like then refridgerate until they set up. Not much more time than this and a WAY better taste (and look for that matter

My family and i think these little treats are the perfect touch of chocolate for people that don't have much time to bake or create giant platers of treats. For people that did not like them thats your loss, plus if you didn't think they were good looking why did you make them da da......

Waste of time and money. These things look unappetizing and taste nothing like truffles. I am sure you can find better truffles at a trailer park bake sale.

Not even sure how anyone got these into their mouths. Mine never would set up, I put them into the fridge for 1.5 hours, still smooshy, put them into the freezer for 1 hour still smooshy, and I even left them out all night hoping they might dry out, still smooshy. Taste wasn't bad, but it was a big waste of time and now I have a big mess to clean up.

Yeah. These are that. Use Ina Garten's recipe. They're quick, authentic, and rustic looking.

I think the problem that many people have with this and other Sandra recipes is that they are not the quality you would get from other Food TV hosts. Sandra isn't really a true chef, and her "angle" is cutting corners. So the folks that like her recipe don't mind something that tastes and looks like they cut corners". Experienced and more passionate cooks really aren't impressed with chocolate frosting ruffles that kind of look rough. I guess to sum it up--it is what it is--like it or not.

This is not a truffle. Alton Brown's receipe is over the top. Don't waste your time or money. Sorry Sandra, you make great drinks through, this is semi homemade nothing!

I laugh so hard at some of the comments....I think a simple "not for me" would be quite enough......bringing jesus into it seems a bit over the top!! These are fast and tasty and if you do it right they look very nice on a plate dusted with cocoa. Sandra Lee rocks!!

I use this recipe as the center for my truffles. Refrigerate overnight then coat in semi-sweet chocolate - a bit messy for prep (all that melted chocolate but a wonderful treat when complete. You have to be quick so they don't melt during dipping!
