Made these several times now. A bit boozy but very moist. Skip the rose petals and go to the cake/candy making store and buy them pre-made! Always get oohs and aahhs when I serve them.

But when my ex boyfriend who consumed everything edible takes a bite and gags... that's not a good sign.

Wow, it came out very moist and delicious. Was a little on the heavy side with the Sherry ingredient. I recommend using 1/4 or 1/2 cup of Sherry instead of the full amount. It's strong in my taste! It did fill my home with a distinct liquer scent- and when I opened the oven a wisp of steam came out... must of had something to do with the Sherry. Just to warn you though, between the Sherry icing and the cupcake, it was packed with Sherry flavor! Very interesting taste- never had something like that before. Would be appropriate for a holiday party with mature adults and drinking.

Elegant and so romantic to have rose petals. Perfect for my annual Ritz Tea Party

I make these into full-sized cupcakes. I made these for a picnic two years ago. Everybody loved them and wanted the recipe. They're addictive! Now before every function, everyone says they want the "sherry cupcakes."

A plain mix is just as good and much easier.
