The flavor is very good and the ribs are tender.I find the sauce is watery.I cooked it for 8 hours.

OMG this recipe is Excellent!! The short ribs are so tender and full of flavor I didn't use fresh herbs instead I used the ones right out of my spice rack. I filled my had twice with each herb and sprinkled it into the pot. I got impatient towards the end and sampled it at 51/2 hours it was good already. I'd make this again it IS sooooo incredibly good.

I used the key ingredients with a pot roast for Sunday dinner. It was delish! It took me some time to find dark ale that didn't come in a pack being that my family doesn't drink alcohol but it was well worth the four store trip.

I made this last night for a Valentine's surprise for my husband, who comes off the night shift at 4 am. An 8-hour slow cooker recipe is perfect for our conflicting schedules, and this was easy and according to hubby - delicious. I have not had a chance to sample yet but he said it was tender and the parsnips and turnips were delicious. The herbs add such great flavor too. My only problem was difficulty finding bone-in short ribs in our small town. I had to go with boneless, which seemed to work fine. Great recipe, Sandra, thank you for sharing!!
