    Anyone who believes that salmon and cheese do not go together may help themselves to experience, shall we say, a bite of life beyond their perhaps 'small backyard'.
    Do not mistake Miss Lee's recipes for poor.
    Her style of cooking is meant to save time, but by no means does she pair foods incorrectly.
    Also, a tip for those bitter reviewers;
    Follow the golden rule and try to find kinder words.
    You would come across as a much nicer person.

    I was tentative at first but we liked it. My 15 yr old daughter wants me to make it at Christmas though I think New Years would be better. I followed the directions exactly and gave it a 4. I also did a breakfast version the next morning and changed out the Boursin for cream cheese w/chives and did a Mexican version of a bagel with Salmon. I imagine based on some of the reviews this isn't for everyone.

    I am puzzled that the food network keeps airing certain recipes that the majority of the reviewers says is not "fair" but "awful"! Some of these reviews go back to 2006. This means they have aired it over and over , yet the consensus is the same. If you read carefully the "excellent" reviews, most changed the recipe! I agree with many other reviewers who have said time and again that if you change the recipe, and then give it 5 stars, you are only rating your recipe, not the one on the show! Does food Network not value the viewers who really try their recipes if they do not like them? Or do they think their "gourmets" are flawless? And the low reviews for the salmon quesadillas and the prosciutto biscuits in this episode are not mean, just truthful. Personally, I have questioned many of Ms Lee's recipes and often there are reviewers that feel the same way. so I don't write another bad review just to be spiteful. But I have never seen as many negative reviews of a recipe seemingly be ignored by FN..

    My husband and I loved this recipe. I made my own Boursin--too expensive!--with cream cheese, heavy cream, dried parsley and garlic and it was wonderful.

    I made these for an impromptu girls' lunch but didn't have smoked salmon on hand so substituted a can of canned salmon packed in water. Used less Jack b/c I didn't have much. They were really tasty and I still get comments about them a year later.

    smoked salmon and monterrey jack absolutely do not go together. cream cheese, yes. boursin, maybe. anything stronger than that, it fights the flavor of the salmon.

    It was plain gross. I wish people would not rate a recipe based on the changes they made. Its not the same. The original recipe is horrible. If you change it it's not an accurate review to say "after I changed everything it was great!"
