I followed this recipe to the "T" I bought the leanest ground sirloin and ground pork, but came home to find this mound of meat-loaf swimming in grease along with the potato's, onions, and mushrooms.....I had to throw it out !!! I can't imagine how this recipe has 3 stars........but if you are considering trying it....DON"T

Don't waste your money on the ingredients. I made it - I think it tasted okay but my hubby HATED it. Then I woke up during the night thirsty and realized all the sodium I consumed - between the Shake 'n Bake, condensed soup, and dry soup mix - I probably had more sodium in the meat loaf than you should consume in an entire day. FYI - I put it in the slow cooker - and thought it was a good way to cook the meatloaf. Mine cooked just fine in the time quoted in the recipe and the texture was very soft and juicy and sauce-y.

Others have said this meatloaf tasts like dog food. It does not. While it is not as good as my family's favorite meatloaf recipe which I also make in the crockpot, it was good. I put foil between the potatoes & meat like others mentioned. The potatoes were still mushy - similar to mashed potatoes but they were not bad, just not great. If you are looking for a change of pace, this is not bad at all. One note, I did not have the shake 'n bake on hand so I used one sleve of Club House crackers, ground fine in my food processor in its place. Otherwise, everything was the same except i omitted the mushrooms as not all of us like them.

For those of you who make a recipe and then slam it because of the ingredients, why do you make it if you don't like the contents. DUH!!!!

With all the bad reviews, I decided to use my regular meatloaf recipe, minus some of the liquid. I covered with one can low sodium, low fat cream of mushroom soup, the onions and mushrooms. It was good, and I liked the new method of cooking. The presentation is a little murky looking. Maybe add a little browning sauce? Didn't use the chees soup at all.

This is something I will not make again. My husband and I each had a slice, but the rest of it got thrown out. Wished I would have made my own meatloaf and not wasted the money on ingredients on this one. The only thing I liked about it was the texture of the meatloaf, but I didn't like the taste or the smell of it.

I first made this meat loaf for my dad. He had just gotten false teeth and couldn't eat a lot of stuff. The melt in your mouth is sooo true. He ate it and loved it. Since then, I have made my own version of turkey burgers using the same ingredients Sandra uses in the meat loaf. He loved those as well. I love this reciepe and I have shared it with family, friends and co-workers who love it as well. I will continue to use it. If you find that it doesn't melt in your mouth, then directions were not followed properly. Happy Cooking:-
