I had tried the 'Pot Roast' recipe for a crockpot and just loved it. So I thought I'd try this one. I would have been better off making my own recipe for meatloaf. This had a terrible flavor and texture. I was very disappointed. And now I'm hesitant to try any more of her crockpot recipes. This was too expensive and time consuming to even try! Don't waste your time or money!

I usually don't enjoy semi-homemade recipes because the ingredients just don't appeal to me. I must have been weak-minded the day I watched this episode and said "hmmm. That looks good." After spending $5000 on the boxed up, canned up, and add-water-and-stir ingredients, I nearly spewed on myself watching this concoction develop into a loaf shaped creation. Hours later, as the loaf finished cooking in the crock pot, the most vile smell permeated throughout the house. Sliced it up, and poured a weird, gray, lumpy, potato-ish sauce on top. Mmmmmm, are you salivating yet? The flavor was not meaty or oniony. She said it was going to melt in my mouth. No, the loaf did not melt in my mouth. It tasted like salt, like canned food, like indescribable supernatural things. I spoke of it the next day at work. A meatloaf lover coworker guy said, "please allow me to try the meatloaf. It sounds very interesting." He tried it the next day, and I'm trying to find a kind way of saying that the meatloaf exited his mouth, half chewed, into the nearest waste basket. I agree--stick to your old meatloaf recipe. You know the one: with the ketchup/tomato sauce/BBQ sauce/whathaveyou poured all over, and then baked in the oven. THAT is meatloaf.
PS: the baked potato cheesy-ish soup she made during this episode wasn't good either (and I even used real bacon.

I'm confused as to why this recipe got sooo many bad reviews. Maybe you need a new crockpot or something, or maybe the pork fat made the meatloaf "sludgy". I omitted the pork, and used 1 lb. of 93% lean ground turkey, then followed the recipe to a "T", and it turned out excellent! I had absolutely NO leftovers. Also, try the sauteed zucchini! Very Good!!!

One of the worst meals ever. When finished it was a gooey sludge of gummy potatoes and the seasoning, especially the shake n bake was too strong and dominated the meat loaf flavor. By the time I used all the pre-made ingredients I felt like I'd made a chemical soup. Never again!

As with all things your own sense of taste must be your guide. But my family found this receipe just wonderful. Again I also put some extras in it that I thought might go with the receipe and the taste was great. Pototoes were perfectly cooked and not mushy at all. Still in perfectly cooked little cubes in the bottom. I am really glad I tried it and wasn't the least disappointed.

This dish was way too salty and rich. It leaves an aftertaste in your mouth that lingers for hours. I spent most of the night drinking water and fighting a headache from all of the preservatives in this recipe.

1st and foremost, Sandra herself does not put the recipes on this site. I have made many dishes from other hosts, and they were totally different then what I had seen him do on his show. What I think is absolutely hilarious is the time yall foodie bashers actually took to berate and belittle the people who are WHAT making money with these nasty butt recipes while you sittin at home clownin them? If you are a cook, chef, or inspiring foodie, then maybe you would see that most of these recipes are starters; as in "meant for us to tweak", Nobody wants to do the same ol, same ol. Oh and as for the meatloaf tasting like dogfood; puhleeze remind other people of this review before you invite them over your house for supper. Count me out girlfriend. lmao, you can even make a fake meatloaf out of sand on the beach, so whats wrong with this picture? Get right before you get left......bozo.

I LOVE MY CROCK POT, QUICK HINT IS THE NEW CROCK POT LINERS!!
THIS MEAT LOAF LOOKED GREAT ON TV.
MAYBE IN AN OVEN NEXT TIME W/A LARGER PAN SO THE POTATOES DO NOT TURN INTO GREY MUSH! I DID NOT USE A CROCK POT LINER, I DID AS INSTRUCTED FROM THE SHOW AND THE PRINTED VERSION.
I MEASURED EXACTLY. I DID ONE HOUR ON HIGH....NOW AT THE 6 HOUR MARK ON LOW...THE MEAT LOAF IS BLOOD RED RAW IN THE MIDDLE, THE POTATOES AT THE BOTTOM IS A PILE OF MUSH THAT IS A GREY COLOR FROM THE MUSHROOM SOUP W/CONFETTI FROM THE PEPPERS. I SCOOPED IT ALL OUT AND PLOPPED INTO A LARGE BACKING DISH AND CRANKED THE OVEN ON TO HEAT UP MY HOUSE. I AM SURE THERE IS AT LEAST ANOTHER HOUR TO GO BEFORE WE CAN EAT IT. IT DOES NOT LOOK THAT GOOD AT THIS POINT. THE POTATOES ARE A LOSS...I WILL HAVE TO MAKE SOME BOX MAC AND CHEESE TO GO W/IT. I WONDER IF THE STRAY CAT OUTSIDE WILL EAT IT.
I WILL TRY AGAIN, BUT IN AN OVEN AND NOT ON TOP OF THE POTATOES.
