I loved these because they were a tasty and cute dessert for Halloween! However, I found these a little difficult to assemble and the legs broke off or if I pushed them into the body of the spider they started to distort the shape...so I had to work with them some. Overall, I would make them again and maybe the experience of making them once would make them easier the second time. Great creativity and taste!!

This was a super tasty treat and my kids loved that they got to make a mess. This was my conclusion after take two! I think the best way to take on this recipe is to slightly crumble the pretzels or try to break them in threes and put them to the side. Then take some more pretzels and break them in half for the legs. I then put the crumbled pretzels in only some of the chocolate and had my kids make their spider bodies first. Then had them dip the halved pretzels in the remaining chocolate to attach them. Then I went over each one and spooned a little over the tops of them to seal the deal and had them add eyes. They turned out cute! I absolutely love Sandra Lee and use a ton of her recipes but I do believe this one needs a little more thought and revision.

It was difficult to get it to look like a spider but it's a nice creative treat.

I have never made anything with chocolate before. This was so easy and everybody was stunned when I brought these to the table.

I agree that the recipe is incomplete. The step of adding the legs and eyes are missing. To add legs: reserve some of the chocolate/peanut butter mixture and dip one end of an unbroken pretzel in the mixture. The mixture acts as a 'glue' to attach the leg to the body. Do this until your spider has 8 legs. To add eyes: simply stick two white chocolate chips on the spider to make eyes.

I would have given this recipe 5 stars if it were complete. I've hosted a Halloween party for the past 5 years and I've made these spider bites each time. They are a huge hit with everyone - my husband begs me to make them at other times of the year.

I loved them. These were a hit at our halloween family gathering. Its true the directions are incomplete but I saw the show. For the recipe you just need to do half of everything in order have extra for the dipped legs. Otherwise everthing came out perfect and delish!

This is the 3rd year in a row that I make these. I didn't watch the show and didn't realize that there were pretzels in the spiders body until I read the reviews. But it doesn't matter, these spiders are perfect for the kids to make. I just take a scoop of chocolate onto the wax paper and then let my girls put the legs on and eyeballs. 5 min in freezer and its done. I even make some without the peanut butter for those with peanut allergies. Love it. So simple.
