@#$% pore excuse for a recipe

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
Unfortunately I have to agree with everyone that rated this one star, i would have left the star off but, didn't want the website to give the recipe an arbitrary neutral rating. Also I have to agree that the whole network is going down the tube. I would rather watch reruns of the two fat ladies or old Martha and Emeril. At least they taught me something new. These looked like they should have been made on DIY with item from MIchals or Hobby Lobby. Sorry, but you folks should start looking now for recipes for next year. Guess I'll be using delish allot more often than I thought

You have got to be kidding

I can't believe that the food network is putting their name behind some of these recipes!! I can get this from a child's Betty Crocker cookbook!!! I think the whole network has slipped since its inception and this is an example. I was one of your first loyal viewers and this 12 days of cookies has all but confirmed to me that it is time to move on.

    I've about had enough!!!

Dear Food Network, I'm not sure this is the place for my comments but here goes. This cookie "recipe" is a joke! Most of the holiday recipes this year have been a joke! I'm not sure what is going on at Food Network but I can sure tell you that I don't much care for the quality. The lack of thought that is going into the holiday recipes and specials on TV and on this website is a crime. FN used to be fantastic. Now we get second rate dishes with even more lack luster hosts. I don't know about other peoples opinions, but the addition of the Neely's (nothing but screaming, smooching and no obvious cooking skills), the over use of both Rachael Ray and Guy, (they each have 4-5 shows) and the low cut blouse and peek a boo shirts worn by both Sandra and Giada are both unprofessional and uncalled for. Let's get back to what the Food Network used to be; great hosts with cosiderable skills teaching us new and good recipes. It's too obvious that you going for something else these days.

What kind of cookie is this? Dear Foodnetwork, whats next? You will recommend to buy a box of Ahoy cookies and decorate them with powdered sugar? There are better cookies out there and this one is definitely not worth making or featuring it on foodnetwork....

    class project not a recipe!

Rated: 2 stars out of 5
I am very disappointed in this years picks and particularly this recipe. This seems more like an art project for a class of small children than a recipe for Christmas cookies!

    Packaged cookie dough - AGAIN?!?!?

Rated: 2 stars out of 5
Dear Food Network, this year's recipes are the worst of the past few years. 2 of the 12 cookie recipes this year use packaged cookie dough! What's with this? Please folks, give us better recipes. I make a thumbprint cookie with "from scratch" cookie dough & jam are soooo easy to make. You can find a recipe on any recipe website and in most cookbooks. It's a basic sugar cookie recipe, and you can use any flavor jam or preserves you like - I use apricot and seedless raspberry preserves. They For those who don't want to or can't use dragees, use colored nonpareils.

    Give me a break.

This is not Sandra Lee's anything. This has been done for years and years. It shouldn't be one of Food Networks 12 featured holiday cookie recipes. It's not a cookie recipe, it's a chilcren's craft project. Anyone who jams a piece of candy onto a pre-made cookie dough and puts it in the oven does not get to say they baked a new recipe. I can promise you that Sandra Lee isn't decorating her tree with these or allowing her chefs, caterers or whoever actually prepares food in her house to serve them to any of her guests.

    How is this a recipe?

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
I'm sorry, I'm not sure how this qualifies as a "recipe." Buy a package of frozen cookie dough, follow the directions, and add some sprinkles. It's not a recipe, it's a shopping list. OK, I know, it's free, but sheesh.

It's because of rediculous recipes like this...

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
...that we can't buy dragees in California. Dragees are great as an accent, nothing reminds me of Christmas like a green spritz Christmas tree cookie with colored sugar or shots and a single dragee as a star at the top, but to tell people to put about 100 on a cookie and then eat it. I thought for sure there would be a warning these were for decoration only - since they were supposed to be ornaments. Don't take this as a slam against Sandra, I'm all for quick & easy, especially for weekday meals, but this was WAY off target.

I agree with the last poster. A packaged cookie dough and dragees which are not technically edible? Come on!!! I whole-heartedly agree with the last post - FN had to come up with 12 fabulous amazing unusual cookies and this was one of them? SL is adorable but this cookie is ridiculous. NOt to mention the fact that the photo looks different from the recipe ingredients.... Hate it when they do that.

You have got to be kidding me!

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
Food Network only needed 12 recipes and this is one of them? Packaged dough with hard candy in the middle? First off not pleasant to eat. Dragees are safe if you eat them in moderation but they don't exactly taste good or feel good on your teeth. Secondly, this is a recipe you can probably get on the Pillsbury site. Not a real recipe but, then again, Sandra Lee doesn't have real recipes. Can't figure out why she is still on television. By the way, to the person who asked...No, you can not use gummy lifesavers they will just be a gooey mess.

    Can you use gummi lifesavers

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I have not made this recipe yet and was wondering if you could use gummi lifesavers for this. I have tons of those that my son has not eaten. I had to give a rating before it would post.

I would love make these cookies but I have found something about dragees

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
As fabulous as these decorations are, please note that silver and gold dragees are to be used as "decoration only" per the FDA because they contain trace amounts of metal (ie: silver). Although people do consume dragees in most parts of the world, some culinary professionals are recommending they be removed before eating any confectionary treat garnished with them. Federal and state authorities list silver as toxic at certain levels. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has declared dragees as non-edible and requires jars to carry labels saying they're "for decoration only." We choose not to ship these items to California because of recent lawsuits in that state.

This are too cute!! I am going to try these this weekend. That way, I can have something a little different than the gingerbread men and Santa cookies... Thanks Sandra Lee! Christy in KY
