One of the ugliest cake I have ever seen. Okay maybe the Kwanzza cake was THE ugliest.
When is she gonna be pulled off of Foodnetwork?
I would have given it negative 5 stars but I guess I would have to give at least 1 star for posting this.

The ingredients aren't the problem - there are kosher versions available of all the ingredients needed for this "recipe."
The problem is that this culturally insensitive cake has nothing to do with Chanukah! (Yes, I'm aware the "recipe" is called "Star of David Angel Food Cake", but Food Network obviously, and wisely, renamed it so as not to offend people - she clearly refers to it as a "Chanukah" cake in the episode in which she prepares it.
"Of course, Chanukah [icing] will be blue," Ms. Lee claims in the "Holiday Show" episode. WTF?! The color blue has nothing to do with Chanukah! Neither does the star of David!
Food Network, how can you pay this woman?! Not only does she scrupulously avoid any actual cooking on her show, but she obviously doesn't even do research as she prepares her "recipes!" This cake has as little to do with Chanukah as her disastrous "Kwanzaa Cake" had to do with Kwanzaa. She ought to be fired.

Bob Tuschman, if you're reading, you need to bring a swift end to this madness. Basic rule of thumb when talking about foods or recipes that are meant to represent or commemorate a culture, religion or community: Don't be ignorant, stupid or inaccurate.
This one made Sandra Lee look foolish (something she didn't need any help with and makes Food Network look utterly ignorant. The most broadly available marshmallows come from Kraft, and they're not Kosher. As for the rest of it, well, truly tasteless!
Doh!

Take an ordinary cake, dye the frosting blue and voila! A Jewish holiday cake! :P

There are kosher marshmallows that contain the certification info, and they are usually sold in specialty stores. Most marshmallows are made with gelatin from unkosher animal bones. It just shows how clueless Sandra is in terms of taste, presentation and ethnic sensitivity. As with her other recipes, I wish I could give it 0 stars.

All the guests at my Star of David party thought I'd spent HOURS baking. Then they realized I don't have a kitchen. Then I realized all my guests were cats.
