I don't know what traditional Steak Diane is supposed to taste like, but I DO know that this version was delicious! Even my husband, who is not always receptive to new recipes, agreed it was a keeper! To those of you who didn't like the sauce...I don't know what you were doing wrong! BTW...the addition of dijon mustard sounds good, too.

Never had steak diane without adding dijon mustard. I feel it definitely was missing and tones down the heavy cream taste.

I don't know what the other negative reviewers were talking about but this was great and the sauce was wonderful!

Try with chicken and chicken broth too and by all means use your husbands good cognac!

I think that for a 15 minute meal this recipe could be used in a five star restaurant!!

The sauce seemed heavy and fatty and wrong for the steak.

The sauce was pure nasty: brackish and thin. Tasted terrible. Skip the sauce unless you want to ruin some $$ steaks.

When I served this to my family, they all responded by giving me the hairy eyeball. Next time I'll try a better recipe for Steak Diane. I felt like I wasted money on good steaks by trying this.

I thought the considerable amount of work this recipe calls for would make for a great steak, but I was wrong. It's ok, but the sauce wasn't very tasty. We actually rinsed off our steaks.
