I love mushrooms on everything, so I thought I would love this recipe. It was good and I will make again, but I didnt love it! I didnt have steak on hand, so I used pork chops and it worked out well. I cooked the pork a little longer than the recipe gave. I didnt use Cognac or steak sauce, instead used worchshire sauce & Marsala cooking wine instead(spelling?. -Again, using what I had on hand! I disagree with the other reviews, I found this recipe simple and easy to follow.

Both my husband and I thought the sauce for the steak was unpleasant. We won't make this again.

My mom used to make us Steak Diane when our dad was away on business trips. I remember it very well. I'm not much of a cook, so this recipe seemed perfect ... until I tried to make it, that is. I TOTALLY AGREE that it is way too difficult ALSO IT DIDN"T TASTE ANYTHING LIKE STEAK DIANE. It was a complicated and expensive steak and mushroom sauce. Not terrible but very disappointing.

The flavor was ok. Think it would have been better with worcestershire sauce which is traditional in this dish. Also she didn't ignite the dish on the show as the directions say to do here.

Tasted lovely but was really way too complicated to be SemiHomemade. Not an easy recipe!
