These taste so delicious and were so easy to make. My husband said that these were better than the ones we had at a dim sum restaurant. I would never have considered making these until I saw Sandra Lee make them on her show. I had difficulty rolling the dough out at first, so I tried rolling it out between my silicon baking mats, and was amazed at how fast and easy that task became. I pinched the edges, as I did not want to waste one bit of the dough. I bought the pork from a food trailer in my area, as I really like the smoky, grilled flavor. These pork buns were fun to make and are very flavorful and satisfying. Since I usually only cook for two, I refrigerated leftovers, and found that they heated up beautifully in the microwave. This recipe is a keeper.

I used pre-made bbq pulled pork from a package at the grocery store for stuffing the inside of these buns. Added a little ginger spice since didn't have fresh & chopped scallions to the pork. Didn't have a biscuit cutter so just used a small circular container to cut and seal the buns. I LOVE how easy & fast this recipe is! Will make again trying different types of ingredients for the inside.

This was a perfect meal that my whole family really enjoyed. As a mother of three young children and trying to find new meals this was a perfect recipe that got my whole family involved. The dipping sauce was a little strong but with a little tweaking it has now become a new family favorite. Thanks so much Sandra

I found these to be very heavy and not typical of the steamed bun recipes I find at dim sum restaurants. Also, I think the amount of filling made by following the recipe is too much. Do not use it all in the buns. Massive sticking issues so make sure you oil up the steaming basket ahead of time.

Sandra this is a bland flop, might be okay if you NEVER had a real steamed pork bun to compare it to, sorry girlfriend. Really it is more like 1/4 of one star.
I Agree, these are bland. Better to put some sauce on INSIDE too. Add some sugar & dot or two sesame oil in each biscuit. Also GRATE the ginger rather than just chop it, also grate in some garlic or add garlic powder. Also do fine dice on onion that are pre-browned in pan and add in sauce, flavor enhancements, taste while warm to --because if it doesn't taste good BEFORE you put in bun, it won't improve after all your effort. Just make sure to let any warm contents cool to room temp, or refrigerate, before making buns.
Better to use FoodNetwork's Boitano pork buns & make dough in large stand mixer or food processor.

Either I made these completely wrong or they are just plain awful. I admit I am not a fan of meat-filled dumplings anyway, but these turned me totally against them. For the amount of time spent preparing and the end result, it would be much easier and probably tastier to just go out to dinner.
The dipping sauce was delicious.
