This was one of the easiest soups I have ever made! And it was soo good! I thought the spice was a little bit too much but I'm a wimp...my husband loved it. All in all, it was fantastic and we will be repeating! Did not make the focaccia although it looked great!

I made this soup with the herbed focaccia for my husband and I and we both thought it was excellent. I think the amount red pepper flakes is a matter of taste. We like our food with a little kick so the amount was just fine for us. And my husband usually ignores his veggies so this was a great way to make a healthy dinner that he liked. The bread was great too- I just used pillsbury pizza dough and it was very easy to make.

My husband and I both liked this soup very much and I will ABSOLUTELY make this HEARTY, TASTY, FAST, EASY SOUP again! Great that It is inexpensive and all ingredients can be kept on hand in pantry and freezer for a quick meal ANYTIME!

I agree with another reviewer that the amount of red pepper flakes is simply too much. The red pepper overwhelms the other excellent flavors in this soup. Next time I will decrease to a pinch or OMIT the red pepper flakes entirely and will INCREASE the amount of Italian Seasoning. I'm not fond of the heat or flavor red pepper imparts, but my husband is - and even he found the amount in the original recipe to be too much. Adjust recipe one's own tastes, I suppose.

And YES, on the SHOW, Sandra said to use ONE HALF OF A BAG OF FROZEN TORTELLINI, tho this recipe says "one 16 oz bag"! She used the other half bag for a 'round two' recipe on the show. I used half a bag and it was just right, but if you wanted to increase the number of servings, you could probably add the whole bag with no ill effect on the soup.

I also made the Herbed Focaccia Bread which was DELICIOUS! Together the soup and bread made a fast, inexpensive, hearty meal which we will add to our regular menus and enjoy again. Thanks, Sandra.

This soup was just ok for me. I served this for a dinner party and was disappointed. It smelled so good when I was making it too. i won't make this again.

My family loved this recipe. I swapped out the frozen vegetables for all the different leftover vegetables I had in the fridge, corn, celery, carrots, etc and used fresh cheese tortellini. It was wonderful and a great way to use leftovers. I also have to agree with a previous review, it was definitely better the next day. I had it for lunch two days straight and didn't get bored with it!!

I love the idea of this recipe! i also used the italian style diced tomatos. then instead of canalini beans i used garbonzo beans, then i used mrs dash extra spicy seasoning (which is not very spicy at all. and more italian seasoning, also i used double the amount of broth. its great!

Even more flavor... by using canned ITALIAN tomatoes (with the garlic/basil type, instead of plain canned tomatoes! Also added some dashes of grated parm for more Italian flavor, so very good -and a fast one ! PS: Added more vegies from my bin... green beans, northern beans, etc to make this like a big minestrone!
