Ingredients

  • 4 (1 1/2-pound) or larger live lobsters
  • 2 gallons water

Directions

Bring the water to a boil in a pot large enough to hold the lobsters.

Rinse the lobsters under cold water and quickly slide them into the boiling water. Cover the pot and simmer gently until the lobsters turn completely red, in about 6 minutes.

Drain in a colander and serve immediately with melted butter or extra-virgin olive oil.

    Traditional New England boiled lobster

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
If you're looking for a recipe for preparing a lobster dinner the way its done in New England, this is it. Forget all the... others, this is the way its done all the way up the coast. This is a relatively simple meal. Just be sure to let the lobsters drain, upside down to let all the water out before eatting. It can get a bit messy at times, but its well worth it.Read more
