I don't know why this is "intermediate"! It was actually very quick and easy! I used red potatoes and they turned out great- add a little cheese and it's crazy good!

I made these for Easter brunch as a side with a Mexican breakfast casserole and everybody loved them! Simple, quick and delicious! Does not get any better than that!

The most perfect hash browns ever. You can't mess up this dish. It's simple, requires only a few dishes, and is a delicious. You can make the hash browns and build on them with literally anything to make a great breakfast or other dish. .....I have no idea why there are so few ratings for the dish. This goes to show that sometimes a great dish goes unnoticed, except to those who pay attention.

Despite whether you call these home fries, country potatoes, or hash browns, this is a no fail recipe. Add what you want, it's all good, as long as you pre cook the potatoes and get a good crust on. That's the secret. Delicious!

Perfect - I now know the secret to perfect hash browns. You have to fry them in the oil until a crust has formed on the potatoes and then flip it over!

I would call these home fries, not hash browns, but who cares, this recipe is the BEST! Closet to restaurant style home fries I've ever had, and much tastier.

This is truly the best hash brown recipe out there. I have tried ALL other ways, and this one is the best! The potatoes come out perfect, and you can leave the roasted potatoes in the fridge for days before using them. Genius!

Very easy to make and tastes even better. My family loves it. Even my 5 year old asked today if I would make them for breakfast! That says it all!!

Thank you, Sara, for this is by far the best hash brown recipe. I will never purchase frozen hash browns again. So easy. I appreciate the thought behind baking the potatoes the day prior to free up oven space for a breakfast/brunch. The potatoes hold up so well once diced and sauteed in whatever flavourings one chooses. Delicious!
