This is a great recipe, I made it for the first time for Christmas last year for family and they were all in love with it. The cream cheese frosting was to die for but next time I would double the recipe for the frosting because I almost ran out. The actual cake was extremely moist, I didn't have to keep them in the over for the whole time, I kept checking on the three cakes in the oven. I watched the video that goes with this recipe and followed all directions exactly and everything worked out perfectly. There were no complaints.

When I moved to NYC from SC my friends loved my cooking. But when I made this my official birthday cake recipe, I got a whole lot more invitations! Just kidding on the invites but this recipe is super popular even among Brooklyn-nites who frequent his bakery. Love it!

I followed the advise of others and reduced the oil by 1/2 cup and I got a firm but moist cake without too much oil. Overall a really good recipe.

it tastes good but too oily... next time i'll do 1 cup instead of 1 1/2 cup.... frosting is real good.

This cake was not good. It was oily. It only made two layers and they were not very high. It did taste a little better the second day. The frosting was really good. If it were not for the frosting I would have thrown it out.

This was my first RV cake and tried this recipe. The cake flavor itself was mild and nice. However, I thought the recipe was way too oily. I've noticed in searching recipes that many only call for 1/2 cup butter (or oil but this recipe and a few others call for 1.5 cups oil.
