    After picking up some beautiful okra at the Farmer's Market, I wanted to do something different than the stewed tomato/okra recipe that I grew up with (and like, so I tried this one. Actually, the variation worked well and my family was happy with it, as was I.

    Finally, insofar as the comment about southerners eating habits go, I grew up across the river from Louisville, which may not be the deep south, but it's certainly more south than north. Res ipsa loquitor as the lawyers say...

    How rude to insinuate Southerners eat twice the amount that Northerners would. Frankly, this dish sounds so nasty that I don't think you will find many true Southerners willing to try it.

    I was skeptical about this recipe because I usually only like okra fried, but it was really good. The red pepper and fresh herbs give it a nice flavor, and it's super easy and fast!

    This an easy alternative to Frying Okra.(Which us southeners think is the only way to cook it!
