A very special, but simple appetizer, especially as you make the candied nuts ahead of time. I have made them for a few occasions and they are always a hit. As mentioned in another review, guest were originally reluctant to try them, but everyone had to try them with the first oeuuus and ahhhss :

incredible taste and texture combination. easy to make. I've made some alterations of my own, using toasted pecan halves instead of the candied walnuts for less sweetness and using room temp. brie instead of the goat cheese. If you don't have fresh thyme - go get some - it makes a wonderful difference.

What a great combination of flavors! I followed the recipe except added dried thyme into the goat cheese mixture instead of sprinkling it over. These go together quickly and make a lovely presentation.

These were so delicious and easy to make. Didn't have milk but did have heavy cream. Used a fork to blend then a wooden spoon. Cream was almost whipped. The blend of flavors were just right. Guests were reluctant to try at first but once they did others followed quickly. Great to keep ingredients on hand for a quick dish.
Thank you Laura Werlin and Sara Molton.

Made this last week for our Martini Party and boy was it ever a hit, so easy to make and serve. Wouldn't change a thing but didn't have the thyme so left it out.
