My boyfriend said it was the best coq au vin hw had ever had, I did substitute with chicken breasts which he liked, as there were no bones to contend with while eatitng.

One of my all time favorite dishes.I have made Coq Au Vin many times before and found this recipe is easy to follow.Remember to allow yourself plenty of time, for this is time consuming.I would suggest blanching the onions to pop them out of their skins easier. My family LOVES this dish.

The dish takes a bit of time to prep so it's perfect if your guest enjoys watching. The dish is worth the work and wait. I used a 2003 chianti and will be looking forward to making it again.
