  • 4 apples, preferably green
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

Core the unpeeled apples, then cut into circles or slices. Cook in the butter, turning often, until soft. If you have a sweet tooth or if the apples are bland in flavor, stir in 1/3 cup brown sugar and 2 tablespoons water. Continue cooking until apples are coated with syrup.

Excellent. Used sucanat instead of brown sugar, an extra tablespoon of butter and some cinnamon and nutmeg.

Pretty tasty, with a couple of tweaks. I didn't add the water, but I threw in 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg. They were very good with ham tonight, and I think the leftovers will be equally tasty with waffles tomorrow morning.

These were very good and easy. I used whatever apples we had and like others added some cin and fresh nutmeg. Thanks, A&A Deppen
