Excellent. Used sucanat instead of brown sugar, an extra tablespoon of butter and some cinnamon and nutmeg.

Pretty tasty, with a couple of tweaks. I didn't add the water, but I threw in 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg. They were very good with ham tonight, and I think the leftovers will be equally tasty with waffles tomorrow morning.

This recipe is very easy and quick, and it was yummy!! I'm making it again now, but this time I'm gonna try stuffing some pie shells, folding them over and baking them....we"lll see how that goes!

This is a really good recipe. It's simple and easy for that quick. special treat. Add a little cinnamon and your in business. It reminds me of the apples Mom made when I was A kid. Give 'em a try, You'll like 'em

I like to cut the apples (Granny's are best; Red Delicious give it an off taste into bite-size chunks, rather than circle slices. And I agree with another reviewer, fresh grated nutmeg and cinnamon really make this dish. I especially like to add some roughly chopped toasted pecans at the end. This is great as a breakfast side dish (really! or even as an unusual dessert, and it makes the house smell great.

The apples were good, but the brown sugar wasn't what I was expecting. It was a little too syrupy for my taste. Maybe a little cream would help to make it more like caramel?

I made these with the brown sugar and served them alongside a german potato salad and sausages. They were great--their sweetness balanced the vinegar of the salad. I think that sprinkling cinnamon on top of these would also be good. They could be served as a relatively healthy dessert.
