I made this for a football game snack. The cream cheese is not a very compatable flavor. Very Very Rich!!! Maybe a mayo/mustard mix would be better with ham and cheese. Swiss cheese would be fine and not so expensive.

This was incredible! Very tasty and so, so simple. I am not an onion person so I omitted those and sprinkled with sesame seeds.

This was very tasty and very easy to make. I would recommend cutting the cream cheese in half due to the greasiness. We used the six cheese italian blend and parmesan for the topping and no worchestire sauce and it turned out excellent. Any ingredients can be used or changed in this recipe and it will still turn out great. Excellent appetizer!!!

I thought these were really good, my partner thought they were out of this world delicious. I made exactly as the recipe calls for with one exception, instead of buying chives and cream cheese separately I used chive flavored cream cheese. Worked out perfect! This was my first time working with gruyere cheese and I have fallen in love with it. Will search for recipes today that have gruyere in them so I can experiment with the leftovers. I would encourage everyone who is concerned about the price of ingredients (which I don't find ingredient cost to be unreasonable to do the same! And as for the amount of cream cheese used.....adjust to your liking, as you can do with most of this recipe. As for me, I'll be making this exactly as created for years to come!
Congrats on winning and good luck with your food truck!!

I was really excited about making this after seeing the show, but it wasn't as great as it looked. Definitely too much cream cheese like some other viewers said and the cheese was pretty expensive. Loved the topping but mine wasn't very crunchy/crispy after the allotted time so i put it under the broiler for a few minutes to get it crunchy. I also didn't have worchestire so i'm excited to try it again w/ the worchestire (sp sorry and less cream cheese.

These looked wonderful on TV but my family agreed the cream cheese could have been left out- were way too rich. We prefer the similar hot sandwich recipe from southern living with ham, cheese, onion and poppy seeds. Probably would not make again- too costly also.

They were okay. Wasn't a fan of all of the cream cheese though. Next time I will eliminate it. Also will adjust it to be able to use a less expensive cheese. Maybe half the butter too. I did like the crispiness of the bun though.

I just made these fro dinner and have to say they are pretty good. I think though a a tiny bit less cream cheese oh I added Kosher salt but all in all they were pretty damn good. My son LOVED them told me to make them every week now. I am very leery about making certain dishes since I made one of Giadas and it was AWFUL after spending almost $50 to buy the ingredients, I gave the entire thing away and the people I gave it too didn't like it either.
