This recipe was absolutely disgusting! The fish's consistency was a step above baby food and the sauce was nothing special and breaks while cooking so it makes it look super unappetizing. I'm starting to question whether or not these 2 ladies know good food because this recipe is seriously questionable. Run away from it! Don't be lured in!!! Words cannot express how awful this recipe is.

The dish was so-so. I have mixed feelings about it. First of, the sauce turned out nothing like the picture shown above, and the consistency was sort of runny and not appetizing to look at. But, when you actually taste the sauce, it isn't so bad and paired well with catfish. However, after eating it for awhile, it tasted a little too heavy for my liking and made me feel gross afterwards, like I just ate an entire bucket of greasy fried chicken. I'm not sure I would make this dish again; the dish was too heavy for me, and it was fish!

This recipe didn't turn out well for me, the consistency of my sauce & the color of it, didn't look nothing like the picture above. Mayonnaise to me is, fat-free Miracle Whip, and maybe that affected the outcome of this recipe! The taste of the combined ingredients were, well, I'll just say okay. I gave this 4 stars because I didn't use catfish, I used whiting fillets, and it wasn't meaty enough for me. On a scale of 1 - 10, I rate the sauce a 5. BUT... I gave it this rating because by using fat-free Miracle Whip, the results could of been of my own doing, and MAYBE not because of an issue with the recipe itself. I suggest using real mayonnaise, and level it off, like you would do flour when baking --- it may come out redder. I used a heaping 1/2 cup & it came out the color of chipotle sauce. You might want to use catfish as stated too, or cod.

I liked this recipe, but did not love it. Would make it again for myself, but probably not for company. I thought it tasted a little too thousand island dressing -ish. Really easy and quick recipe though!

Everyone at my house loved this recipe. We cooked 8 pieces of catfish in a large casserole dish and followed the basting sauce recipe exactly as directed in the recipe. It made a LOT of sauce. Next time I will half the recipe for the sauce. Will definitely be making this again since we are trying to add more fish to our diet.

Trisha was right on, this sauce would make cardboard taste good. Just made it and can't wait to bake the catfish. Not to mention the hushpuppies and stewed collards.....tonight's gonna be a good night!
Thanks Trisha!!
