I see that so many people had the same experience as me -- the end product is more like a soup than the thick baked beans we enjoy.

These were loved and there was none left. I think she uses canned beans because if you soak and cook your own beans, then they wouldn't be semi-homemade I'm guessing.

I added a little bit of brown sugar to these beans too. They were fantabulous, and a great accompaniment to her fabulous Tri-Tip.

Personally, we thought the beans were better right out of the can, before I started moneying with them! These were very runny. I had to actually drain them before serving.
