You guys DO realize that the Wizarding World park version isn't like the one described in the book? In the book, butterbeer was warm. And since this recipe was published in 2008, it's based more on the book, if anything.. NOT the park.

This drink is ok.. but no where near the one served at the park. I've found this to be much closer. Give it a try and see what you think!

    1/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 package Spiced Alpine Instant Apple Cider
    8 oz Water
    8 oz Cream Soda
    Buttershots Schnapps

Dissolve 1/4 cup of Brown Sugar into 8oz hot water. Add one half of 0.74oz Apple Cider package to mixture. Let cool.

Put 1/4 cup of Cider mixture in glass. Add 8oz Cream Soda. Add Buttershots Schnapps to taste.

May reduce 8oz water and Soda to fit into 8oz glass.

This recipe is good but doesn't taste at all like the Rowling approved version at Universal. If you want to try that, try this recipe: http://www.chicaandjo.com/2010/08/12/butterbeer-recipe/ It is super easy and tastes exactly like what I had there.

This might help those that find this recipe too sweet. While at Universal, we only had frozen butterbeer. I made it using the following recipe and just experimented. This made 4 servings.
1/2 cup of both Butterscotch and Condensed milk - I used Mrs. Richardson's Butterscotch/Caramel
    2 TBSP of whipped butter
    Warm as in Sandra's recipe
Pour in blender with about a cup of ice and 1/2 can of cream soda and blend to a slushy form. Add more/less of the butterscotch mixture to taste. I also poured a little cream soda on top of the mixture after pouring in a glass for the fizzing effect.

Please stop telling me not to try something. If you don't like it, fine. That's you. Chances are you and I won't always like or dislike the same thing.

Recipe was too sweet, didn't taste as good as the one from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, only at Universal Studios Orlando Resort Islands of Adventure.

This does not even make regular coffee cups. The proportion its in makes about one oversize coffee cup full. Also its so sweet even my kids couldn't drink it. I suggest doubling (at least the cream soda and using just 1/8th cup of sweeten condensed milk. That evens it out a little bit more. Also we tried a pinch of cinammon and nutmeg to give it some spice.
