I began the recipe by dumping the brownie mix, oatmeal and eggs in my bowl. I then realized I was out of oil...so I substituted the oil with one 3.9 oz individual apple sauces (no sugar added. I then realized that my super chocolate chunk brownie box was only a 15.5 oz box...smaller than the box size the recipe calls for...so, I added a second 3.9 oz apple sauce to the batter so the cookies wouldn't be dried out. I omitted raisins because I wasn't in the mood. I was surprised that with all my recipe changes...the cookies tasted great... and without the oil!

The recipe is wrong, people. If you make it the way she wrote it the cookies will be VERY, VERY DRY because of the additional dry ingredients added to the brownie mix. You need to add at least 1/4 to 1/2 cup more water or they will bake up dry as croutons.

These were, hand's down, the best semi-homemade chocolate oatmeal raisin cookies I have ever had the pleasure of consuming.

I'd never thought of using brownie mix as a base for cookies. This was a fantastic idea. They came out great! AWESOME recipe. Try this. It seems funky but they turn out melt in your mouth good.

I mixed together the ingredients as listed and had trouble getting them to adhere to one another. The recipe on the box of brownie mix called for 1/4 cup of water. How could 2 1/2 cups of dry oats be added and the water eliminated to end up with moist cookies? I added 1/4 cup water plus a little more as well as the 1/3 cup oil the recipe calls for in addition to a little more. The cookies came out moist and delicious and are still that way. I would not even attempt this recipe without adding however much water the brownie recipe calls for plus some. I also found I had to bake the cookies for about 17 minutes which is long for cookies. But the cookies are delicious and something different so it was worth it.

I made these today and they seem to be a little dry. I do believe that the ingredient list needs editing.

This is not a good recipe to work with, I think some of the steps and items are missing from it. I made it just like it says and I dumped the whole bowl in the trash.
