I've already written one review and decided to post another. For those that have negative comments about how it's ugly and hideous...Why don't you add more decorations??? Because it seems to me like there will be plenty of room with the 1/2 sheet cake as the base to decorate it very nicely. As far as the silver dragees, your guests can either remove them on their own or better yet, use the edible ones. By the way Sandra, I'm having this cake at my upcoming wedding April 9, 2011.

Oh, so THIS is a recipe? A few store-bought cakes and tacky ornament-like cookies thrown onto the sides? When I actually saw this episode (I was THAT bored, I laughed when she said this, erm, "cake" was called a No Bake Love Cake. Haha. Yeah, sorry, but there was no "love" put into this horrifying, poor excuse of a dessert. I don't know about Sandra, but if someone made this cake for me, I would think they hated me and didn't want to spend any time on me at all. And it most certainly shouldn't be regarded as a WEDDING cake, for crying out loud!! Oh, and a little side note, most 14-year olds (including me when I was 14 can cook better than this crazy lady.

This is just plain ugly. Is she kidding with this? If anyone gave this to me, I'd throw it in their face.
I'd rather go to the local supermarket and get one of their cakes. I'm sure it would be cheaper than this eyesore.
I'm sure there was some hideous "tablescape" to go along with this monstrosity.
How many cocktails did it take to come up with this winner?

This is the tackiest thing I have ever seen. Sandra Lee is known for Semi-Homemade, but her implementation of that principle and the ineptitude demonstrated on her television show hardly give her credibility. While not everyone can make a Charm City Cake, there are millions of cakes that fall between this monstrosity and Duff's works of art. Judging from the price quoted on the show, this "cake" is more expensive than any I have had (including some very tasteful, but simple wedding cakes. Insane.

For the nay-sayers who wasted time on negative comments, save it. Sandra Lee is known for SEMI-HOMEMADE !!! If you have very little time and very little money but want to do something nice, this will work in a pinch. Everyone can't be Duff Goldman or anyone at Charm City Cakes. Use your brain and be creative. I made this cake. I stacked them and didn't use any supports and did not have a problem. Maybe it wasn't as heavy as you think. As for the DRAGEES (silver balls professional cake decorators will advise clients to remove before eating, why can't you? Or, decorate with the ones designated as edible. This is a good idea and I say try it, you'll like it as will whoever you choose to do this for....

They didn't show any support for the cakes! You can't stack cakes like that unless you have a support or your cakes will sink into one another.

Once again, Sandra proves that she doesn't understand the difference between a "recipe" and "assembly instructions."

I made my own wedding cake out of those little pies you can buy at the store for 5 for $2.00 and I think this is a great idea for a ten year anniversary cake. I'm running out the door to the groshry store right now! thanks sandra lee!
