I did this with strawberries. Add the fruit once the Jell-O has cooled BEFORE putting the glasses in the fridge.

I literally tried this recipe 4 times, and the jello wouldn't set up. I also should've read reviews!

Just add the kiwi in at the end of the jello setting up, especially if you don't mind the "mixed" look of the jello, or just on top after it sets.
Maybe Sandra has a trick to getting it to set up that did not get mentioned in the recipe. That happens on here, those recipe "adders" don't always add all the information so it could have been left out.

It's very good if you use different fruit and jello flavor. I used strawberry-banana jello with banana slices, it came out perfect.

I didn't have any problem getting it to setup....and the whole thing was easy to make and looked just like the picture, but....IT TASTED HORRIBLE!!! Maybe it would be okay using another flavor jello, but even the fake cheescake pudding tasted bad....I will check the reviews first from now on!

I LIKED THE WAY IT WAS PRESENTED IN THE GLASS. I LIKED ALL THE INGREDIENTS. I DID QUESTION THE USE OF KIWII IN JELLO, BUT I TRUSTED THAT THIS RECIPE WAS TESTED BY SOMEONE BEFORE BEING SHOWN TO A TRUSTING FOOD NETWORK FAN LIKE MYSELF. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT DID NOT SET UP AND WAS REALLY AN AWFUL MESS. LIKE SOMEONE SAID I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEW FIRST.

I agree with the rest of the people, it is the worst thing I ever tried to make. It never set up. I thought that using less water would make a difference, Wrong, Sorry I didn't read the ratings first before trying it. Next time I will.

Worst recipe ever. No wonder people call her a fake cook. I don't think she actually made this recipe. There's no way it would have worked. It says right on the Jell-O box not to put fresh papaya, pineapple or kiwi in it because the enzymes prevent it from setting. I thought that maybe just using the hot water was her trick to getting around that, but it didn't work. This was the first (AND LAST time I've ever tried one of her recipes. I won't bother trying another.

I see a lot of people are trashing it because of kiwi issues. I don't care for kiwi, so I made strawberry banana jello with bananas in it and it worked just fine. Like Rachael Ray says, learn the method, not the flavors. The recipe is a good one. If she used a different fruit, it would have a better rating. Try it with flavors you like and I think you will love this. I've made it several times - so easy, delicious and healthier for you too! Not to mention fancy presentation for guests.

The jello never set up on this recipe. I'm going to try and make it again, but I'm not going to add the kiwi until after the jello has started to set up.
I e-mailed food network but I have not heard back from them.
