The majority of Sandra's recipes are below average. I made this and it was the farthest thing from Thai Tea. I have a recipe box with over 800 recipes and almost none are hers. I only include recipes that are 4-5 stars, which none of hers are.

This recipe is listed correctly, I just watched the episode. Sandra uses dry Vanilla Chai Tea Latte Mix. Sandra does things her way and comes up with a great different cocktail. It reminds me of a drink I enjoyed in Bejing, China 4 years ago. So it's not like the coffee shops' version; it's Sandra's way. Thx.

Thai iced tea made from "scratch" is far easier and requires fewer ingredients. Basically its tea, and condensed milk.
IF you are are indeed too lazy to boil water and put a tea bag in it and then wait for it too cool then use the bottled lipton (allthough the citric acid will add an unpleasant flavor.
I don't understand the food coloring she's adding to it....
This is basically chai tea on ice with extra colors in it. This is not Thai Iced tea.

I actually think this recipe title is a misprint...
The recipe calls for Chai mix, which is sold in every grocery store and coffee shop practically anywhere you go. It is also categorized with about 8 different Chai Tea recipes which leads me to believe this is what is was supposed to be. I have prepared this recipe and it is indeed and exquisite one, was an absolute crowd pleaser and I will continue to serve as it definitely resembles the iced vanilla chai's I order on a daily basis...except this one is spiked and delicious.

I agree with previous posters, none of the ingredients in this "recipe" (blech! lead you to anything resembling true Thai iced tea - OR even a cocktail adaptation of one. Why didn't she just call it a "Chai Cocktail" if she's going to use chai mix??? It is an insult to mislead your audience AND the guests who have to be subjected to this. Yuk!

There is so much wrong with this recipe, I don't know where to begin. Do not try it, it is truly wretched, not to mention the ingredients are expensive.

Where is the "Thai" in this recipe? Lipton, chai (Indian, food coloring, Irish whiskey and Bailey's?!? She could have at least used Thai tea. Sheesh.
