I unlike others, did not have a problem with this recipe. I just stirred it occasionally to make sure the rice did not stay at the bottom, and the top did not form a custard layer. I only stirred it every 30-45 minutes and I cooked it for 3 hours. I would just suggest being home when making this. I did not find the ingredients to be too expensive either. I would definitely make this again.

I was looking forward to trying a dessert in a slow cooker. It turned out awful with the rice on the bottom and a curdled layer on top. I had to throw it down the garbage disposal.

I am not sure what I did wrong. My pudding turned to mush. Cooked for 4 1/2 hours. I blended everything together after I took off the lid. I always my grandmother adding a a littkle bit of milk when she served it and I did too. Any suggestions as to why the paste?

I love the taste, but since there are no directions about how to know when this is done, I kept cooking and cooking until it seemed to gel. That was about 6 hours. Since it was too late to eat, I refrigerated and had it for breakfast. Unfortunately, being overcooked the rice layer was solid and had to be chipped into manageable hunks. The top layer was a little rubbery, but still pleasant tasting. Next time, I will only cook for 3 hours and then refrigerate to allow it to set.

Not sure what happened , the rice is still semi hard, I left it in the crockptot for 4-5 hrs. everything else was done, for the cost of what it was to make this , I have to rate this very low
    sorry

Please do not waste your time or your ingredients on this recipe. The proportions are all wrong, there are too many eggs, not enough flavor, and you end up with a grainy, pastey, flavorless goop.

This has to be the first recipe of Sandra's that I didn't like. It just didn't taste that great to me. Sorry but I will not be making this again=(

I am a seasoned cook but this is the first time I tried rice pudding in the crock pot. I read the recipe carefully (and have again several times, however, when I took the delicious smelling pudding out....it was a disaster. It seemingly separated into two layers. There was a tastey cooked rice layer on the bottom and then an egg custard on the top. I had to throw it all away. Does anyone know what went wrong so I can do it right next time? Thanks!

My husband doesn't really like coconut but he loved this recipe. It was really easy to throw together.
