This recipe is FANTASTIC!!!! I was raised eating grits but they never tasted this good! This is my "birthday meal" that I choose every year! I use Gulf shrimp which I think are the best. This is a big time winner!

this is the best recipe I have ever made at home! My boyfriend and
I loved it, the sauce is amazing. Nothing needs to be changed just perfect. By far the best grits I have ever eaten.

I almost wish I never made this for my wife because now she asks me for it ALL THE TIME! I make it exactly the way it's described with maybe a lil extra kick on the shrimp, but otherwise there's no need to change anything.

warning: this recipe for SALT lovers only
The basic concept of this recipe is excellent but I found the seasonings MUCH too salty - the shrimp seasoning as is was almost inedible. Also, the use of bouillon cubes for the grits made them again too salty. Bouillon contains mostly MSG so perhaps a more healthful substitute would be better. I do not care for the overly salty flavor of country ham either, which I found out today. If you LOVE LOTS OF SALT in all of your foods, then you will be fine with this recipe.
