My family loved them and thought the sauce was great. Took a little more time then a normal crab cake but was worth it.

Made this tonight.... I can only think of a few words to describe this recipe. Ewwww. This was not as bad as my mom used to make however it was upthere with bland & tasteless. Wish I felt differently.

I was so excited about visiting Santa Cruz Diner. First, I never saw the cakes on the menu. Second, the seafood appitizers I did order fell far short of what I thought seafood should be, especially in Santa Cruz! I ordered the Captains appitizer and the popcorn shrimp. Presentation seemed to be an afterthought, and the taste was like it had been cooked earlier and reheated. I ordered the Fried Clam sandwich for my Dad. Not really impressed there either. I was sorely disappointed in all the food. The only thing that was absolutely exceptional was the service. Great people.

These cakes exceeded my expectations! Sooooo good! and I am very picky about my seafood. my only advice is to reduce the vinegar in the sauce by half, it was a little too vinegary to me. but the cakes were absolutely excellent!!! I recommend this recipe to anyone and I have added it to my coveted recipe box!
