Made this for a relaxed saturday night dinner with friends. I followed the recipe exactly using anduille and cayanne ingredients and it came out perfect. Adding the shrimp at the end off the heat cooked them just right. Dinner was a huge hit went great with cold beer and an arugula salad dressed with fresh lemon juice and olive oil . I didnt think the chopping was a big deal at all. This is a keeper no leftovers with this!

I watched Ina and Amelia make this on the show and it is as easy to make
as it looks. It is very flavorful and a huge success with hungry husbands and kids.
I used a half pound of the smoked ham and did one and one half pounds of shrimp since my family likes seafood. The andouille sausage was perfect in this
recipe. I cant wait to make it again on a chilly, autumn afternoon!

I ditto all the good things everyone is saying. To cut down on the time chopping everything, get yourself a Vadalia Magic Chopper and this will go super fast!

I AM NOT A GUMBO , JAMBALAYA EATER. NOT REAL KEEN ON THE SPICES. BUT I MADE THIS JAMBALYA FOR MY FAMILY DUE TO THEY LIKE THIS STUFF. AND I TASTED IT. IT WAS ABSOLUTLEY DELICIOUS. THE FLAVORS ALL COMPLEMENTED EACH OTHER (EVEN THE SHRIMP. WE HAD IT FOR LUNCH AND DINNER. IT IS A MUST TRY. THE BEST ONE POT MEAL I HAVE EVER MADE AND IT IT EASY TO DO. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE . SO GLAD YOU HAD AMELIA ON YOUR SHOW TO MAKE THIS .
TO BAD I COULD ONLY GIVE IT 5 STARS -I WOULD HAVE GIVEN IT 10 !

I tried it for dinner this evening. SInce we don't eat beef or pork, I substituted turkey kielbasa and chicken. I also added a small can of chopped chiles. Everyone loved it and is taking it for lunch tomorrow. I will absolutely be making this again. Another terrific Garten recipe!

This was great. To save time, I did my prep the day before! Saves a lot of time.
The only this is you really need a very large pot to cook in. I live in the High Country (Colorado so you need to have a lot more room in the pot, as things tend to expand more. I needed to add more chicken stock and some water. My husband just loved this dish!!!
