Although it's a good starter recipe for a jumping off point, these pancakes were way too bland for my sons and I. I even added an extra tbsp of sugar and they still weren't as sweet as I'd like them. With some tweaking this would be a good recipe but otherwise I'd seek others. I even added bananas in the pancakes and it still tasted flat.

The quickest, easiest, and BEST blueberry pancakes I ever made. Followed the recipe exactly. I will make this again... and again... and again.

I made these recently, and they were delicious! I did tweak the recipe though. i added more than 1 tbsp of sugar, and and added about 1 tbsp of ground cinnamon to the dry ingredients. I also topped it off with powdered sugar!(along with syrup they were insanely good.

made these today for the first time with my 2 boys, i thought the batter needed to be a little thicker but turned out well and the kids enjoyed them. didn't have buttermilk just use what we had "skim" might be why batter was a little thin 'GOOD'

Absolutely loved them! I took the advice of others, and added 3 tbsp of sugar. I also used soy milk instead of the buttermilk. For extra flavor, I added a splash of vanilla and almond extract and a whole mashed banana!!! Even my daughter, who is a picky eater, ate a whole pancake!

The recipe was easy and delicious. I didn't have any buttermilk, so I substituted with 1 cup of whole milk and a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. My husband and children adored breakfast this morning. What a way to start off the day.

Loved it! I needed a simple recipe that did not need sour cream and that was tasty. Tried it and was wonderful! My family enjoyed it! They were fluffy and yummy! I added white chocolate chips with it as a topping and it was wonderful! Thank You Cathy, it was a wonderful recipe!

Was a great recipe! The only thing I did differently was separate the egg, added 2-3 T more buttermilk. Then I beat the egg white until soft peaks formed. I folded that into the batter gently. They were fluffy and delicious!

Just tried this recipe and the pancakes came out great. I took the advice of other raters and added an extra tbs of sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, and some fresh nutmeg. I also combined white and wheat flour, and almond meal as the one cup of flour with about a tbs of quick oats to give it a healthy kick. the pancakes came out light and buttery. Yay! yum yum. thanks Cathy.

Great simple recipe! and makes just the right amount for my little family! I've made this a few times and made a few tweaks to suit me better.
I thought they were a bit bland the first time I made them, so I used 3Tbs sugar. I only use raw sugar too and I think this makes a big difference.
I mixed 2tsp vanilla extract into the melted butter before adding it to the mixture.
I never buy buttermilk... what I do is put 2Tbs vinegar into a cup and fill the rest up with milk.
Try it sometime :
