This is definitely a keeper!! I saw this recipe on Paula's Best Dishes and made it the same evening and it was fantastic!!! I left out the bell pepper but that was a personal preference. I recommend this recipe completely; it's easy to make and your family will beg for more!!!

This is just what I grew up on in NOLA! It is easy and a fix and let be type of dish on LSU GAME DAY!!!! Geaux Tigers!! I wish I could post my end result, I do have pics but do not know how to post to this site? The only thing I added was an onion, THATS it and it came out perfect. Thank you Miss Paula and a BIG thank you to Miss Donna.

I was so excited to try this one, my mouth watered just watching the episode. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed in the result. I followed the recipe exactly and monitored the liquid level throughout but it still ended up dry. The gravy lacked in flavor and the garlic did very little as it kept popping out. I threw out the leftovers.

Although I've been making Food Network recipes for years, I never felt compelled to review one until I made this sandwich last night. Oh, my God - this might just be the most delicious sandwich I've ever eaten! My fiance and I made this on a lazy Sunday afternoon and followed the recipe to a T. It was so easy and perfect. This is definitely something we'll make again many, many times!

Instead of a full 2 cups of water, I substituted a can of low sodium beef broth with 1 can of water...It was absolutely easy, absolutely delicious! My food junkie son added cole slaw to his sandwich for an instant major homerun! Yum! This is one happy family in Chandler AZ

I've lived near New Orleans all my life, and I can tell you this is the real deal. Just like the ones I make. :-
