This was a great cookie recipe! I made the dough the day before and kept it in the fridge overnight and it came out perfect for rolling and cutting. Remember to store the dough that you aren't working with in the fridge while you are rolling and cutting and remember to use lots of flour while rolling and cutting to prevent the dough from sticking to everything. The only thing I didn't like was that this recipe wasn't very good for decorating cookies before baking. I always decorate with sprinkles and such before baking my cookies (instead of after, like this recipe indicates and the dough didn't work super well for that. But other than that - perfect cookie!

They are so easy to make. You just roll the dough out. Cut snowflakes out and bake them it's just that easy to do.

These holiday cookies are very yummy. Although they were a bit labor intensive, I felt worth it, because everyone enjoyed them very much! The meringue powder was difficult to find. I finally bought it at A.C. Moore after searching in a few stores. The icing was runny at first and needed a little more confectioner's sugar to thicken. I refrigerated them overnight which helped. I think the next time I make them, I will use lemon extract instead of almond for a lighter, lemony flavor.

The cookies were the best I have ever had. I made them with Deby's gluten free all purpose flour and they were perfect and absolutely delicious. I was pleasantly surprised that I could still use this favorite recipe and make it gluten free since I can no longer eat gluten. I love this recipe gluten free style!

These sugar cookies came out delicious! The dough was a little soft to work with, even after refrigerating for 1 hour...but it wasn't a problem since I took another reviewer's suggestion to cut out the shapes on a piece of parchment paper. I didn't have time to go to Michael's for the meringue powder, so I used another recipe for Royal Icing using 2 tablespoons dried-egg white powder (you can get it at Whole Foods or any "green" grocery store, 1 lb confectioners' sugar, and 6 tablespoons water. The frosting and cookies tasted amazing. They were a huge hit at work!

I have yet to find a sugar cookie that really knocks my socks off. With that being said, these were pretty good! The taste seemed a bit bland but then the aftertaste was really yummy. We refrigerated it for several hours. I really had to muscle it down to get it to roll, which was good! For the icing/paint, if you are going to ice the cookies and use something like sprinkles, don't do what I did and frost all of them with the plan of adding sprinkles at the end. You have time to work with it, but especially if it's spread thin, you should decorate with sprinkles as you go or in small batches. I was able to stack them in a container pretty quickly. The cookies are definitely better with the icing. The icing is just sweet. I'd put it on the same level as any royal icing or sugar cookie icing, mostly decorative with some sweetness for the bland-ish cookies. We took half of them and used Christmas sprinkles before baking and those turned out nice too.

OMG, this is really good dough. Didn't change any thing. Was a little worried after mixing the dough, it felt very soft, but wrapping in plastic and putting in fridge as directed was just perfect. I will be using this recipe from now on. The royal icing, also worked well. Thanks Paula. Love your show!!

This is the best recipe, it makes up very easily, the dough is super simple to work with, the cookies hold their shapes while baking and are really easy to decorate. Thanks Paula, I've been looking for a recipe that works this well for a long time. Happy Holidays Y'All!

So yUmmy! After the cookies bake, you hardly taste the almond. It just gives it a little something. Definitely recommend. We added this to our Christmas traditions!

I really liked this sugar cookie recipe! I thought that it was great. I cut down the sugar just a little, to about 3/4 of a cup instead, and they still were a good amount of sweetness (just looking to cut back a little!. This is a great staple and just a good sugar cookie recipe in general.
