If you click on the episode "Break the Rules Breakfast" which is listed by the name of the recipe it will have all of the recipes on that particular show. It includes the date pear compote and the candied bacon recipes. As for the pepper I don't remember seeing her add any to the pancakes on the show and I don't think that it sounds right, as it is not listed as an ingredient on the recipe page. Reread the instructions it states when to add the milk mixture.

In the show she did not refrigerate the starter. She just set it aside while she made other things. Then she used the starter in making her pancakes.
I was wondering about that and that is why I was interested in using the recipe if you could used the starter within an hour.

This is not the recipe as show on TV (pepper? And the delicious date/pear compote is missing. Additionally, the recipe is missing some instructions - what do you do with the wet ingredients? When? I really enjoyed the show but recipes should match or at least be proofread!

I enjoyed this pancake but found the recipe as written to produce such a thin pancake that it practically cooked within seconds. I had to add quite a bit of flour...probably close to 3/4 or 1 cup in order to produce a cookable pancake. Also the flavor was more similar to a yeasty bread...no hints of sourdough although it worked wonderfully with the compote it was featured with. I will make again but start with 3 cups flour from the beginning to see if this results in a better pancake thickness from the outset.
