This recipe is great! I replaced the wine with 1 can of tomato paste and 2 cans of tomato sauce. I also used 3 onions and added more garlic along with a green bell pepper. The beans I added were black and red ones. I know it is a variation but there is nothing wrong with trying right? It turned out great!

was a hit at our office Christmas party. Requested 4 years in a row!I also used homemade wine instead of Burgundy only because it was on the counter but it really made the chili taste great!

Judge for yourself! I had 2 pounds each...ground ...pork, beef, veal...in prep for another dish. Found this chili recipe and used the meat. . Followed recipe wirh exception...ground every ingregdient except meats. Absolutely delicious. I have nothing to do with this dish. Do yourself a favor and try this recipe and communicate with us. My taste buds, my smells and my my tongue convinced me that this is a keeper. Thanks FoodTV. Annie , Fremont , CA

I have been using this for super bowl parties for seven years and it is always a hit. I modify it to use 50% cubed sirloin.

This was very good...however I found that it needed more chili powder. I also added about a teaspoon of cumin. I love the use of black beans vs. red kidney beans and the burgundy wine gave it a nice flavor.

This recipe works great with Venison. I was told it was the best ever. I doubled the Jalapeno and it was great. Very easy!!

I won a chili cookoff on friday using this recipe as a base. I added twice the tomotoes and used whole tomatoes without the skin. also doubled the amount of all hot peppers. The chipotles really make this chile adding that extra layer of smoke flavour.

Great healthy go-to recipe. I increased the seasonings a bit because I like my chili spicy!

I substituted 1 lb bison for the beef (definitely worth the price!!! The taste is more flavorful than ground beef, and it's healthier for you! and doubled the tomatoes as others suggested. After reducing the wine, I combined everything into my slow cooker and let it simmer for 4 hours. This was delicious and all of my guests asked for the recipe!
